Week 4

This week I have lesson learned form the life of Origen. He grew up learning the Bible and meaning of commitment. I learned that it was a great impact in his life that he grew up learning about the Bible. It helped him to made his works about the Christian theology and how to defend the authority of it. Another lesson that I learned was form the wife of Justinian named Theodora. I learned that even a woman must have courage in dealing with war. It is that she must be brave enough to encounter the threats in life. It was also that he did not ran away from the problem, instead faced it and encouraged her husband to do it too.

I was a child of God that had been to church since I was a child. I learned a lot of stories from the Bible and memorized verses from it. I was taught not only by my teachers but also by my mother. I studied at Christian school when I was in my preschool. Then today in Bible School. I also learned a lot about the Bible and the Word of God because of our activity in the church which is the Vacation Bible School. I was also nurtured spiritually in our Saturday class, where it was somehow like in Sunday School but different approach. I was also guilty of running away from my problems. I tend not to deal with those problems so that I could not hurt some people. I would just let it go and not face it for I was not brave to speak to those people for they were older than me. I did not want them to think that I was just with the part of my mother that is why I thought those ways but actually I was not. It was a problem that I was in the center of both side. It was hard for me because it was between the young people at church and my mother. That was the reason that I did not have courage to speak instead just listen to what they were saying against one another.

Because I learned these lesson, there were steps that I would do to apply these. First, I will continue to read and meditate upon the Word of God. Then, I will learn from what I have read and apply it in my life. It is for me to enhance my knowledge about the Bible for it will help me to be firm of the faith that I believe in. I will also practice to deal with the problem that I will encounter in my life. It is to help me to be more mature woman of God. This could help me to be like Theodora, and that is to influence my husband someday to persevere and have courage to deal with the problems in his life, family, and of course in the church. It is also for him to grow as a man of God.
